Adults go thru stages just like babies growing up. We spank our kids and make them say sorry out loud when they do wrong. And when we grow up, we forget these lessons. We take so much for granted, people and experiences that our regret shows in the company we seek out so desperately, the relationships we try to have, the silly talks about the same old names that supposedly you hate/despise/don't think about. My 3 year old daughter has more sense than many adults and in her innocence I find the strength to see and handle the realities that define true womanhood and adulthood. Who is not for you, is most certainly against you, and when this realisation fills your adult soul like warm, honeyed cognac, it becomes as easy to forget as it is to brew green tea. Because the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference.
